he only thing better than one good delay pedal is two good delay pedals. I
think every guitarist with a bent for creative time manipulation can agree with
this statement. Delay pedal stacking can vastly expand upon the rhythmic
potential and timbral complexity of one’s playing. Go too far, and it can also
devolve into a blitzkrieg of chaotic, ricocheting repeats, but hey, that can be cool too.

Most delay enthusiasts use multiple individual pedals to create their multi-layered
repetitions, but with delay stacking techniques gradually becoming more popular among
guitarists of all stripes, it was only a matter of time before manufacturers cottoned on and
began developing single pedals that allowed for use of multiple delays lines simultaneously.
In the past few years, a number of companies have released pedals that allow the user
to employ more than one delay at the same time, either in parallel fashion, in series, or
both. The most enticing of these even let the operator use two starkly contrasting delay
tones at once, such as a warm, murky analog sound blended with a shiny digital one, for
