Tone Report Weekly Issue 160 | Page 48

Part of the Dunlop family of pedals , Way Huge is known for spectacular effects boxes . Two of its overdrive pedals — the Green Rhino and the Red Llama — are unique sounding and quite popular pedals in their own right . Way Huge decided to marry the two in the Camel Toe to some fantastic results .
The pedal comes in a classy brushed metal bronze color with cream-colored graphics and black knobs . Something I noticed off the bat is that Way Huge provided an easy access battery cavity on the front of the pedal , so there is no need to unscrew the pedal to change the battery out . Of course , on the opposite side there is a jack for a power supply , so you have options .
On top , there are two stomp switches . One stomp switch bypasses the pedal entirely , while the other allows you to select which overdrive you intend to use . There are two toggle switches on the pedal as well . The “ Series ” switch lets you select whether you will run each of the pedals independently and select them via the stomp switch , or if you will run the two in series . When running in series , the select stomp switch allows you to use the Rhino channel alone , or
combined with the Llama . The second toggle allows you to select Classic mode on the Rhino channel .
Each channel has a Drive and a Volume control — pretty self-explanatory . The Llama channel has a Tone knob that acts as a high cut control , and the Rhino has a Tone control sandwiched between 100- and 500-hertz boost-and-cut knobs . When the Classic switch is flipped , these two frequency controls are switched in or out of service .
On its own , the Llama channel has a lot of warmth . Adding just a touch of drive to gets a little sponge and grit . As you crank the drive ,
