BOSS BD-2 BLUES DRIVER & DM-2 ANALOG DELAY (WAZA CRAFT OR ORIGINAL) Boss is perhaps the most recognizable name in effects pedals worldwide. We all own, or have owned, something from its lineup of indestructible stompboxes, and it’s created many classics such as the BD-2 Blues Driver and DM-2 analog delay. The latter was one of the first pedals I ever owned, and I was enchanted by the warm, bubbly repeats that created a magical cloud around whatever I played. You could say I owe my pedal obsession to Boss because of that old, beat-up DM-2. One of the first boutique pedals I ever had was the Keeley-modded BD-2, and as advertised, it offered sweet, dynamic, amplifier-style grind and saturation. It helped me learn a thing or two about dynamics when playing; it made me pay more attention to what I was doing. Both pedals have been reborn in the form of the artisan Waza Craft series, which takes what we all know and love about the classics and raises them to another level. The Waza Craft Blues Driver has the original mode you’ve become familiar with, and it also has a custom mode, which offers more gain, body, and sustain. If you
