Though sadly now discontinued , the FT-1Y had a feature that was highly innovative and extremely useful : the Realtime BPM Analyzer . This worked by employing a tiny microphone built into the pedal that listened to the specific frequency range ( that of a cracking snare drum for example ) and adjusted the delay time within a 20 percent range of the tapped tempo . This was great for hands-free delay syncing and particularly useful for guitarists that had to sing and play at the same time . I wonder what our Japanese friends are up to now that they have pulled this pedal from the line ? Only time will tell — hopefully a firstclass Flight Time with extended features will take off . If it does , we ’ ll need some stereo outs please .
