IDS THESE DAYS … RIGHT ?

Loud , obnoxious , narcissistic … there ’ s a list of adjectives that have classically been associated with the unique demographic between 12 and 20 , that typically doesn ’ t include words like aware . But in what some have called the “ iPhone generation ,” the teens of today that started their mobile experience with a touchscreen instead of a brick , awareness is one thing that seems abundant .

Of course , at 14 and 15 , there is still an innocence and naivety that dissolves with age , but it ’ s a different type of innocence even from the previous generation . Instead of passing notes in class , there ’ s SnapChat . The classic study group is still a tremendous asset to students looking for assistance outside of class , but today ’ s study sessions are conducted via apps like FaceTime and Skype .

So as the producers and the marketers preparing for this generation to enter the consumer landscape , we have to ask :

What do we actually know about kids these days ? We were curious , and so we interviewed two – Ari and Drew , both New Yorkers .
