People love

" liking " food .

FASHION HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BIT OBSESSED WITH FOOD , but more so now because reputable designers have actually made it acceptable to rock watermelon clutches or sweatshirts with a big McDonald ' s logo on it . I also think a lot of it has to do with photography ( maybe even social media ) as a whole . Fashion and food editorials are very visually appealing . People love " liking " food . It ' s not low-brow in the fashion industry anymore ... it ' s inspiration .

!

Fruit is trending , particularly pineapples and watermelons . They ' re like the Birkenstocks of food-- you ' re not exactly sure why you find them so fashionable , but you do ... and man do they photograph well !

!

Hospitality properties and style insiders are working together a lot more these days . Restaurants like Acme and Indochine excel at drawing in the fashion elite . Places like The Elk and The Smile hire the same design team behind the ACNE Studio ' s stores . They ' re incestuous industries in many ways .

!

High-fashion designers & brands keep designing food inspired collections . Remember the Moschino x Jeremy Scott McDonald ' s inspired collection last year ? How about Anya Hindmarch ' s Tony the Tiger purses and her supermarket pop-up ? Better yet , Chanel ' s show last year where the entire runway was turned into
a full-fledged supermarket . Yes , this all happened . The trend is real , my friends .
