can be used when operating your machine under normal conditions , but they are of particular use to us . This single group holds a different opinion on the CPU . In fact , if anything , it ’ s as if INTEL has given a direct nod to the community , even though that ’ s obviously not the case . By and large all 7700K CPUs are better than the 6700K models they replace . Sure , enough there are those who were fortunate to find samples that were exceptional , but with the 7700Ks it ’ s no longer rare finding a 6.5GHz 8 thread capable CPU as most of them are capable of this . In fact , with a new Super PI 1M record , it proves just how well these CPUs overclock as that test at this point is frequency dependent . Beating a record that stood for several years is proof enough that the 7700K is the new 2600K ( Yes , one is well aware that

There is also perhaps some trepidation from would be users , with the news of AMD ’ s upcoming Ryzen processors . As such , INTEL CPUs have never been a harder sell to games . These competitor CPUs are not likely to affect the choice of overclocking platforms employed by overclockers . Even if the IPC is identical , the frequencies are not there and as we have already established . Frequency is the name of the game for overclocking .
Going forward , the 7700K samples are likely to get better and even though we have seen amazing results already , much like with the 6700K they will on average improve with time and we may yet see new records and high scores in Benchmarks that we had given up on by virtue of lacking the clock speeds available previously .
In the next issue of TheOverclock magazine , there will be an official review of the CPU across using air cooling , in games and of course where it matters most with LN2 . There was a limited window which one had with the 7700K leading up to this issue and the performance results can be seen in the picture . If this is any indication of what is possible with the right complementary hardware , then there should be plenty of worthwhile results and a true showing of how competent the new CPU is . Hopefully at such time we can take a look at the 7350K as well for comparison ’ s sake . News right now about the CPU isn ’ t good and from what has been revealed by several sources , the CPU isn ’ t quite up to scratch and is not capable of matching let alone exceeding what normal 7700K CPUs can achieve .
