Liam showed us the way in the Radials. Pittwater was also represented by John from Royal Motor in what could only be described as a classic mid 70’s laser in almost original condition (not)! RPAYC Laser Sailors L to R: Jarah Sheppard, Joshua Bull, Nathan Bryant and Antony Hawke Saturday started off light and the PRO Col Chidgey took us around towards Woollahra in search of wind. That failed, so we returned back to Double Bay as the wind started to fill in. With a very poor Sunday forecast, the plan was a to try and get 4 races in on Saturday so we could get a drop. Unfortunately we only managed 3 races in each fleet, but considering how the day started and how busy the harbour was, that in itself was a good result. Sunday arrived with a shocking forecast, but at the club, there was a slight southerly that kept most people hoping. Some banked on no racing so didn’t bother rigging, so when the AP came down and racing was on, there was a lot of activity. The kids got on the water straight away which was great to see. The 4.7 and Radial fleets managed to get 3 races in, but the Standards only got 2, however they did start about 7 and there were a few BFDs on the results sheet at the end of racing. By the end of racing, the wind had really filled in and was nothing like the forecast, although it started getting very shifty as it picked up which made it “challenging.” 18 Lasers from RPAYC held March 7 - 8 in the Laser Metros held at Double Bay SC. 3 standard 9 radial and 6 4.7. Not sure but it was probably the largest single club A great show of how strong Lasers are currently at the club, with the kids showing representation and a great show of how strong Lasers are at the club these days. us the way. Now it is the time for us older ones to try and pick their game up a bit Us old folk aren’t too worried about results as we are just there to show we can still and see if we can do the same.
