The VOICE

of LMS

Titanic

by Cayden Matson - 5th grade

For years the keys to my freedom were lost,

buried,

hidden by my own fear.

I tasted sadness on my tongue,

anger at someone who was supposed to love me,

but he didn’t,

instead he hated me,

put me down because I wasn’t what he wanted.

I had the keys that let me be happy,

at a time etched into some of my best memories,

he took those keys away.

or so I thought,

but I LET him take the keys that belonged to me.

Keys I had earned,

loved,

cherished,

and valued.

I lost them because of someone who WANTED to hurt me,

I let him win,

let him hurt me.

Those keys that were mine,

took YEARS,

friends,

love,

a change of heart to FINALLY reclaim.

Now,

after I have lost,

searched for,

and reclaimed those keys,

I

WILL

NEVER

LET

THEM

GO.

The Keys I Lost and Then Reclaimed
