Arlington “Flips” for TV Chef
Celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson to Tape Segment in Depot Square, November 16
Story by Terry Louderback
LiveFIT Bootcamp and Studio
owner Adina Wiseman knows the
struggles of cooking healthy in the
South. “I have clients every week ask
how to incorporate healthy eating
into their exercise regime. So many
of us grew up eating traditional foods
that taste delicious, but, let’s face it,
are full of calories, carbs, and fat.”
So when the chance came to
participate in a taping of Flip My
Food in Arlington’s Historic Depot
Square, Wiseman jumped at it. After
all, it’s right outside her front door.
As part of the taping, Wiseman
will lead Chef Jeff, Flip My Food’s
host, in a Bootcamp class and then
join him for a cooking
demonstration. Flip My Food is a
nationally-syndicated show that
features celebrity chef Jeff
Henderson recreating a dish to make
it healthier, while keeping all the
flavor of the original.
The Arlington taping will also
West Tennessee

feature Devan Patel, owner of
Brendalay Grill, located just off
Depot Square on Quintard Street as
Chef Jeff “flips” one of his dishes.
“We submitted four items off of
our menu,” Patel explains, “but we
don’t yet know which one Chef Jeff
will make over. They are all best
sellers—and delicious—but not
something you’d order if you were
looking to lose weight.” Patel adds
that Brendalay already offers a
variety of healthy options.
The taping of Flip My Food is part
of the Town of Arlington’s
Tennessee Downtowns project,
designed to promote the historic
district. The public is invited to view
the taping, which will begin at 8:00
a.m. on November 16. Audience
members are asked to arrive by 7:30
a.m.
“By having this nationally
syndicated show filmed in
Arlington’s Historic Depot Square,
we are able to tell people about the
history we have here and the great
shops and restaurants. Our goal is for
people see what a great place this is
and want to visit,” said Mayor Mike
Wissman. The newly renovated S.Y.
Wilson & Company will also be
highlighted.
This project is funded under an
agreement with the State of
Tennessee. Flip My Food airs on
WMC-TV5 locally, weekdays at
12:30 pm and is syndicated in 53
markets across the U.S.
