The Arlington Middle Lady Bobcats basketball team had a sensational season this year finishing with an overall record of 21- 5 . The team , coached by Annette Jeter , finished runner-up in the Municipal Schools Regional Tournament and advanced to the West Tennessee State Sectional Tournament hosted by Highland Oaks Middle .
The Lady Bobcats began the task of knocking out each opponent by defeating Havenview Middle , Highland Oaks Middle , and White Station Middle before meeting Colonial Middle in the Championship game .
From the tipoff , this game proved to be a battle between two teams who were fit for the challenge . In front of a packed house , the Lady Bobcats battled to the very end but came up just four points short of the championship , losing 33-37 . Eighth grade twin guards , Carmen Taylor and Charmen Taylor , were both named to the All Tournament Team .
This is the Lady Bobcats first appearance in the championship game of the state sectional in ten years . Coach Jeter attributes the success of this team to the even distribution of talent amongst the guards on her team . The Lady Bobcats will return two starters next year : guards Brittani Wells and Danielle Villarin . They look forward to the challenge of making it to the championship game again next year
