I was originally hired as the vice president of operations of both corporate and franchise operations in 1998 by Sally Smith. What is your favorite thing about the brand? To see the evolution of the brand from both a service and physical plant standpoint over my 18 years with the concept. Innovation in new menu products using current SKUs, testing new sauces and adding whatever value I can to help the brand continue to grow. What do you look forward to accomplishing while serving on the board? To help protect the well-being of our fellow franchisees. There is information I have learned from sitting on other boards that could possibly benefit FBS. I also look forward to being a team player to accomplish any projects for which I have responsibility. In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge currently facing franchisees? Staying ahead of legislation, especially in the wage arena and putting game plans together to combat it. In your opinion, what is the most valuable benefit franchisees receive as members of FBS? Knowledge. The knowledge of the individuals on this board from both a business and BWW standpoint. From what I heard and witnessed in the Reno meeting, I truly believe our franchise community would be well-informed and protected from any possible business threats. What are three things people would be surprised to learn about you? My wife and I spent a week’s vacation in Destin, Florida, with Faith Hill in 1994 and had no idea who she was until the end of our trip. I was an 11th and 12th grade math teacher out of college (Sacred Heart University) in Greenwich, Connecticut.
