Meet Your d uring the 2014 FBS Business Summit in Las Vegas, FBS members elected a new board of directors tasked with carrying out the direction and mission of the association. Each of these 10 individuals brings a unique perspective of the brand and its future, as well as a wealth of business knowledge and ideas of ways to continue to improve the organization. Take a moment to get to know a little about the leaders of your association: WRAY HUTCHINSON, Chairman Title: President Company: World Wide Wings Number of Units: 25 Year entered the system: 2005 How/why did you get into the system? I resigned from KinderCare Learning Centers and was seeking an entrepreneurial opportunity in casual dining. I had visited a Buffalo Wild Wings® 10 years earlier and when I revisited in 2005, I knew I found a brand with tremendous upside that was still early in its evolution. 2015 Issue 1 | THE SCORE 10 What is your favorite thing about the brand? The combined energy of our guests and team members. It’s a place where you go to have fun and watching that energy is very gratifying. What do you look forward to accomplishing while serving on the board? I hope to add my experiences to others in the system. Together we can build processes, systems and routines that will yield greater results for the franchise system and the brand. We are a very fragmented franchise system and I want to help the smaller franchise groups the way others helped us when we were getting started. In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge currently facing franchisees? The continued pressure on our labor costs with federal, state and city initiatives. In your opinion, what is the most valuable benefit franchisees receive as a member of FBS? Drawing on the collective wisdom of the system and to be able to utilize the purchasing and negotiating leverage of the system. What are three things people would be surprised to learn about you? People are typically surprised when they learn of my 13 years with KinderCare prior to joining BWW. I usually have to connect the dots for people to explain how I moved from that industry into BWW; I’ve seen the Rolling Stones in concert more than 20 times; I want to be Bobby Pancake when I grow up. My brother, Mike, had the vision and he knew I would read everything, so it was a great partnership that continues even now. What is your favorite thing about the brand?
