The 45ft, 14 ton mobile Bibleworld was brought in by Stewarton churches to help bring the Bible to life for the local community. School children and other groups came along to experience what is a highly acclaimed education resource that delights, entertains and educates its visitors. There are a range of interactive computer activities and hands-on experiences. Since its launch in 2005, more than 50,000 children and adults have enjoyed checking out Bibleworld. “It was amazing seeing the faces of local school children light up when they came into the mobile unit. One child commented, ‘This is awesome!’ at the sight of all the interactive screens and practical hands-on displays. This great resource from the Scottish Bible Society gave us the opportunity to experience the richness of the Bible’s story and its place in our culture. It certainly achieved what the Bible Society said it would: entertain as well as educate!” Rev. Gavin Niven, minister of John Knox Church “It was a joy to be part of this experience and to de-bunk a few misconceptions. On e of the 250(!) local schoolchildren entered the Mobile Unit saying ‘this is going to be about God and boring!’ He left wide-eyed, commenting: ‘It was about God and it wasn’t boring!’ The effort, imagination and variety which the Scottish Bible Society has poured into this amazing “Time Machine” make it a pleasure to work in partnership with them”. Rev. George Lind, minister of St. Columba’s Church
