SWAT would like to thank all those who supported the table top sale held in the Centre, standalane, on Saturday 12th October. The main task in the last few months has been trying to tackle the ever advancing Japanese Knotweed, which can now be found in many areas of the town. Two members of SWAT have been trained in dealing with this very invasive species, and particular thanks go to David MacKenzie who has spent many, many hours of his time, free of charge, trying to tackle the problem. SWAT would also like to thank all the local businesses who have been kind enough to lend their support by taking advertising space on the annual calendar, and in particular, Sainsburys, who are lending their support for the coming months, by adopting SWAT as their Local Charity. 2014 sees the 10th Anniversary for SWAT, and to mark the occasion, they are hoping to hold a Scottish themed evening one Saturday in March, so look out for more details at the start of the year, and make it a date on your (SWAT) calendar! Anyone who would like to lend a hand with the work SWAT does, can find more information on the website www.stewartonwoodlands.co.uk or can email [email protected] and ask for more details.
