The group is located in the beautiful Music Room at Lochridge House, approximately one mile outside of Stewarton, and is run by the multi-talented Fionn Patrick. Prior to moving to Stewarton last year with his lovely wife Sam and his two adorable children Sophie and Beau, 32 year old Fionn had worked as a session musician with recognisable names such as Beverley Knight, Westlife and Amy McDonald. With more than 15 years as a professional musician under his belt, Fionn has a wealth of experience to share in guitar, piano and vocals. The opportunity to learn percussion is also on offer, and in this Fionn is ably assisted by Ben Martin, a hugely talented drummer who is currently working as principle drum kit teacher at Glasgow Music Studios. In 2014 Fionn started the Kelvin Music School, which focussed on child development through musical activity, and it is this project he is hoping to extend to Stewarton and the surrounding areas. With groups catered to specific age groups, ranging from toddlers to primary school children, the workshops are engagement and activity based, incorporating many elements of discovery and making full use of the senses as well. Stewarton Music hopes to introduce some after school musical groups, which can hopefully offer some alternative to the current after school clubs already on offer in Stewarton. Also in the pipeline are parent and toddler mornings, which will consist of groups of up to six parents, along with their children, taking part in stimulating music based activities which will hopefully encourage an interest in music as the child grows older. Further information on the classes offered can be found at www.stewartonmusic.co.uk or by contacting Fionn directly on [email protected].
