In early Spring, we re-dedicated the Church Clock which, after many years disuse, has been repaired, restored and repainted. This was made possible by part of a legacy and by various generous donations, the first of which was a public speaking fee by our late friend Hugh Brown who died suddenly last August. th e 20 th ay r sh ir e s te warto n s c o u t g r ou p This term both Beaver Colonies have been busy gaining badges and 10 of the Monday Beavers and 6 of the Wednesday Beavers have gained their Chief Scouts Bronze Award which is the highest Beaver Award in Scouting. The Cubs have been working on many activity badges and at the moment are preparing for the Ayrshire East District camp at Lapwing Lodge on the 22nd-24th May. A group of Scouts have just returned from a Hike Camp based at the Wigwams at Tyndrum. They took part in a Night Hike and two Day Hikes. They cooked their own food over open fires. A great time was had by all. There will be a Group Camp at Lochgoilhead in September when the Cubs and Scouts will take part in lots of outdoor activities. ju lie h ay m em o r i al : hal l s ound s ys te m: On the same Sunday, we dedicated the new Sound System in the Church Hall to the Glory of God and to the memory of Julie who died in September 2014. Julie’s Funeral Offering made it possible for us to replace the old Sound System in the Hall. A plaque bearing this photo of Julie and a memorial inscription, now hangs above the Sound System Control Box. s u m m e r wh at ’ s on Sunday 21st June at 11am in Church The Group took part in a Bag Pack at Sainsbury’s in March and raised £895. The Leaders and Young People would like to thank the people of Stewarton for their generosity and thanks to Sainsbury’s for their continued support. This year it’s the Messy Church All-Age family Holiday Club with faith and fun for all, followed by the Celebration Service in Church on Sunday 9th August. All sections of the Scout Group meet at the Scout Hall at Corsehillbank Street.
