In early Spring, we re-dedicated the Church Clock which, after
many years disuse, has been repaired, restored and repainted. This
was made possible by part of a legacy and by various generous
donations, the first of which was a public speaking fee by our late
friend Hugh Brown who died suddenly last August.

This term both Beaver Colonies have been busy gaining badges and 10
of the Monday Beavers and 6 of the Wednesday Beavers have gained
their Chief Scouts Bronze Award which is the highest Beaver Award
in Scouting. The Cubs have been working on many activity badges and
at the moment are preparing for the Ayrshire East District camp at
Lapwing Lodge on the 22nd-24th May.
A group of Scouts have
just returned from a
Hike Camp based at the
Wigwams at Tyndrum.
They took part in a Night
Hike and two Day Hikes.
They cooked their own
food over open fires. A
great time was had by all.
There will be a Group
Camp at Lochgoilhead in September when the Cubs and Scouts will
take part in lots of outdoor activities.

On the same Sunday, we dedicated the new Sound
System in the Church Hall to the Glory of
God and to the memory of Julie who died in
September 2014. Julie’s Funeral Offering made
it possible for us to replace the old Sound
System in the Hall. A plaque bearing this photo
of Julie and a memorial inscription, now hangs
above the Sound System Control Box.
