Despite the weather, there was a great
Tug of War with victory of the men’s
turn out for Dunlop Gala Day held on
competition going to the Auld Hoose’
Saturday 6th June 2014. Gala Queen
Pippa Harzmeyer ably assisted by
Rachel Pollock as her Chief Lady in
Waiting, Adam Cram as Royal Herald
and Logan Morrison as the Queen’s
consort officially opened the Gala. The
main arena entertainment, The Drakes
of Hazard were perhaps more suited
to the weather than those braving
the elements to watch, however this
didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits.
Once again there was great creativity
and imagination displayed in both the
Children’s fancy dress competition
and the scarecrow competition,
congratulations to everyone that took
Auld Tuggers, narrowly beating the
Village Inn Vikings, however it was not
all disappointment for the Village Inn as
the Village Inn Viqueens were victorious
over On The Pull for the Auld Hoose in
the ladies competition.
Work is currently underway to ensure
that Dunlop Gala Day 2015, which will
take place on Saturday 7th of June, is
another great success, if you have any
great ideas or can offer some time to
help please come along to our AGM
which will be held in Dunlop Church
Hall on Monday 2nd of March at
7.30pm or alternatively contact David
