Our very healthy Cub Packs have been working on several activities this term focusing primarily on their Adventure Challenge badge and Teamwork Challenge badge . A very wet and windy Centenary Camp in the grounds of Drumlanrig Castle at the end of September certainly was an adventure , but despite the mud much fun was had by all . We look forward to two camps this year ; Cubs 101 in May at Lapwing Lodge where we will be camping with Cubs from all over the District and our annual Group Camp in September at Lochgoilhead Activity Centre where the Cubs will take part in a range of climbing and water activities .

The Scout Troop is also healthy in numbers and meet on a Friday night . They have taken part in various activities – archery , fire lighting , backwoods cooking and a very successful trip to Glasgow to visit places of interest all planned by the Scouts themselves . The older Scouts are preparing for an expedition and hike camp at Tyndrum and the troop are going to the Group Camp at Lochgoilhead in September . They will be fundraising for this camp to lower the cost .
The Christmas Santa Float was very successful and raised £ 1474 which has gone towards the cost of a new floor in the hall . Thanks to the people of Stewarton for their generosity .
We are always looking for new leaders especially in the Cub Section so if you can give up some of your time to help please get in touch with the Group Scout Leader Tom Sloan on 01560 482407 .
