stewarton scouts end centenary
celebrations with family ceilidh
It was a lively night of dancing on 29 October as Stewarton
Scouts celebrated their 100th birthday with a family ceilidh.
Held in the Stewarton Annick Hall, it was a fabulous night of
traditional Scottish music, as well as a buffet and a raffle. The
John Knox Ceilidh Band were on hand to provide the tune,
which was taken up with gusto by both young and old. Scout
leader and ceilidh organiser, Annette Waddington, felt that the
night was a great success.
“The ceilidh was enjoyed by all who attended. It was great to see
so many young families there.”
This was the last of the group’s events to mark their centenary,
with a family fun day already having taken place in September.
The group would like to take this opportunity to thank all those
who have supported the group over the years, and who have
contributed to making Scouting a staple of life for many young
people in Stewarton.
