44 To place editorial email [email protected] ste warton annick fc is celeb r ating af ter receiving a much needed boost by one of scotland’s most dedicated supporters of young people in s port NVT Group, which is Scotland’s largest independent ICT services provider, has agreed to sponsor Stewarton Annick FC, so that the club can purchase brand new strips and training jackets for 30 boys and girls in its 2009 team. Stephen Park Brown, Managing Director of NVT Group, said: “We were invited to watch the team play recently and we were absolutely inspired by the incredible support of our team through the and, of course, the young players. It has is very fitting and just reward for the team’s commitment shown by both the coaches been our enormous pleasure to sponsor the team so that they could buy their new strips. We hope it helps the players to feel even more proud of their club and encourages them to succeed.” 2009 Team Secretary Ewen Logie added: “We wish to thank NVT Group for the purchase of our new strips and jackets. It hard work that they have been able to run out in new strips to celebrate the team’s 1st anniversary and to continue to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary year. The children and parents are delighted with the kits while the coaches believe that the new uniforms will take team spirit to another level.” Stewarton is Ready Whatever the Weather Stewarton Annick Football Club (SAFC) recently applied for and were awarded support from the Persimmon Homes Community Champions Fund.   SAFC raised £500 through local sponsored events, which was matched by Persimmon Homes, enabling the club to purchase a set of new wet weather training kits for their 2006 (U11’s) players. Persimmon Homes West Scotland were delighted to support the local youth football club, where they have recently began construction on new family homes, at ‘The Pastures’ development in Stewarton.  These new training kits have already been put to good use by the players during their preseason preparations for the start of the new North Ayrshire Soccer Association 7-a-side league season, which runs from March to November.  John McDowell (pictured on the right), a coach at SAFC said; “The future success of youth football clubs is built on the foundations of support from the local children, their parents and the coaches, but equally important is the valuable support offered by businesses like Persimmon Homes, to help meet the ongoing work of providing young people with a positive community based activity.”
