32 To place editorial email [email protected] A Winning Day for Kilmaurs Show older kids race sack race The annual Kilmaurs Show was held on Saturday 16th April at the Scott Ellis Playing Fields, Kilmarnock. The day was a great success with the sun shining on the morning of the show. There was plenty to keep the children entertained and a fantastic day was had by all. Results were as follows: children’s competitions: cattle: The children’s articles were: Best Dairy Animal in Show – J&H Montgomerie, Newlands Farm, Kilmaurs Best Fresian Calf – Katie Watson, Monklands Farm, Moscow 1. Decorated Jam Jar 2. Create an Owl 3. 3x pieces of Rocky Road Best Beef Animal in Show – Sean Kennedy, Bogside, Coylton 4. Favourite Hat Best Calf in Show – Jack Cuthbertson, Monklands Farm, Moscow The winners were: clydesdales: 6yrs and under – Drew Currans Champion – Willie Drummond, Broadyards, Craigie companion dog show: Best Dog in Show – Lorraine Lamberton with Candi Reserve Best Dog in Show – Jane Rycraft with Breeze Best Puppy in Show – E Gibson, Oban industrial tent: 7-10yrs – Joanne Muirhead 11-15yrs – Alison McCall The winner of the 75th Trophy (Best Overall Junior Exhibit) was Lucy Shepherd for her decorated Jam Jar.
