TS: I joined in 1986 as a leader because I enjoyed being in the Scouts in were seen around the idyllic village of stewarton, my youth and wanted to experience it as an adult. when the first meeting was held by reverend alex AW: I joined Stewarton Scouting in 1985 because there was a demand chisholm ma. it had only been a few years since the for a younger age section in the town, and so I stepped up and became creation of scouting, but it hadn’t taken long to find the first Beaver leader in Stewarton. its way to this small place in the heart of ayrshire. what are your favourite memories of scouting? Today, these same uniforms with their distinctive blue and brown neckies are a fixture around the town, and are a key part of its culture and heritage. With scouting related activities and meetings taking place around the town all year long, you would be hard pushed to go a week without seeing that familiar uniform. All sections of the group are represented at public events throughout the year without fail, from the crowning off the Corsehill Queen in June, to the Remembrance Day TS: My favourite memories all involve outdoor activities, and I especially enjoyed hillwalking when I was younger. AW: My favourite memory is seeing all of the young people enjoying themselves and seeing all of the benefits they get from being part of the group.
