Taxi Office Opens After 25 Year Absence
Stewarton Cabs has been up
and running for less than a
year, but the family owned and
run business has expanded
their operation literally from
the kitchen table to premises
employing six drivers and a full
time dispatcher.
“We're delighted with the office on
Main Street,” says owner Billy
Murphy, “We think it's important to
be in the heart of the town, so people
can put faces to voices on the phone.”
A professional driver with 15
years’ experience, Billy and wife
Karen have been Stewarton
residents for more than a decade,
but opening the taxi company
was a cue for Karen to get
involved running the business and
organising logistics.
“It's been a really good experience to
meet so many people, and know in a
small way, we’re making their day
just a little bit easier,” Karen said.
The company boasts an executive
car, an eight seater minibus as
well as a regular taxi, a female
driver, and lots and lots of five star
reviews on their Facebook page.
True to their motto: 'small
enough to care, large enough
to cope', it seems this is one
company really starting to thrive
in the town.
