Winter 2016 Service at Convention & Night for the Fight Convention is quickly sneaking up on us, and it’s time to think about my favorite thing in the JCL (other than the Classics and the people), SERVICE! At state convention, our beloved Project Linus will be a part of our service workshop. We will be creating colorful tiles that the organization will make into quilts for homeless children. Project Linus is also the organization our officer coin wars will be supporting. The officer coin wars consists of each officer competing to collect donations, culminating in a punishment for the officer with the most negative points—coins donations are positive points and dollar bill donations are negative. The punishment is a surprise, so bring donation money and contribute to the cause! In addition to Project Linus and the officer coin wars, our service at Convention will include a card-making station where JCLers can write comforting letters to Syrian refugees that will go through “You’ve Got a Peace of Mail”. dancing, and learning about the impact of pediatric cancer research.
