Go to National Convention!
If you’re reading this, you’re probably familiar with
OJCL State Convention. But what if I told you that there is
an event, similar to state convention, but bigger, longer, and
better? Ladies and Gents, I would like to take this
opportunity to personally invite you to the 2016 National
Junior Classical League convention at Indiana University.
This will be my third National Convention, and I loved my
other two Nationals experiences.
But you may be asking yourself, what makes
Nationals so great?
opportunities that are exclusive to Nationals. From Ludi and
Olympika, to dances almost every night, to even more cool
test options (like Hellenic History and Classical Greek), there
are so many amazing opportunities for you to have an
absolutely amazing time.
So, OJCL, if you can, please sign up for National
Convention this summer. It’s an opportunity you won’t want
to miss.
First of all, Nationals is almost a full week long (July
25th-July 30th). Imagine all of the best parts of convention,
but stretched out to fill a whole week. Second, Nationals
gives you the opportunity to meet so many classicists from
across the country. I have friends from Georgia,
Massachusetts, Virginia, and so many more states because
of National Convention. You also get the chance to build
deeper bonds with Ohio JCLers. Rather than competing
against each other, all of Ohio works together and makes up
one giant team. Finally (for this article), there’s all of the
