Sixth Fo “ I got exactly my predicted grades and it’s just what I wanted ” Alicia Martin-Jones, pictured above, celebrates gaining 3A* and 1 A grade in her A levels. She has gone off to study medicine at Birmingham University. Results Day It was a great summer for our Sixth Form with the best ever A Level results. Almost 20% of the grades were A* or A grades and the pass rate was 99.5%. Year 13 University applicants have headed off to universities both near and far; Bristol, Nottingham, York, Manchester, Sheffield, Bangor, London, Bath, Aberdeen, Loughborough, Lincoln, Birmingham and Leeds to name but a few. A number of other successful students have now started on apprenticeships in; Accountancy, Furniture making and Engineering. We wish all of our Year 13 leavers well and look forward to hearing from them and receiving updates on their future progress. Settling In On September 23rd, the first Year 12 Information Evening took place. The idea came from the current Year 13 students who felt it would be helpful for them to pass on advice to Year 12 students and their parents. Ben Tyrell created a very effective film (Click here to enlarge the video) Y12 Information Evening The Sixth Form have wasted no time in getting stuck into the new school term, with a very hard working, enthusiastic new Year 12 cohort fitting in well with our Year 13 students, who are keen to welcome them in. Y13 Information Video (which can be viewed above) involving Year 13 students giving information that they would like to have known when they began in Year 12. Mrs Livings and a group of Year 13s then spoke about how to succeed and make the most of the time in the Sixth Form.
