Broxtowe Sports Review
On Sunday 17th January, the
Broxtowe Sports Review 2015
took place at the East Midlands
Conference Centre. The Kimberley School had an overwhelming
level of talent and dedication
to sport on display. Amongst
students from The Kimberley
School there have been some
amazing achievements over the
past couple of years including
national representation at World
Junior Championships. There is
no limit to the countless hours
of dedication and support put in
by athletes and families involved.
The award for Young Sports
Person of the Year was won by
ex-student Owen Jordan, who is a
Great Britain U20 fencer. Owen is
the U18’s British Youth Champion
and silver medallist at the
Senior British Championships.
Well done Owen on this fantastic
achievement and we wish you
all the best in the future.
Current 6th Form student
Emily Anthony 12MB
came 3rd in the Disabled
Sports Person of the Year
category. Emily won 3
silver and 2 gold medals
at the Cerebral Palsy Nationals
and became a bronze medallist
at the CPISRA World Games.
In addition to this, there were numerous current Kimberley students
who were nominated for Broxtowe
Young Sports Person of the Year.
Thomas Reeves 7LLZH –
nominated for Young
Sports Person of the Year
– Determined athlete who
is part of many clubs.
Thomas was invited to
swim for NOVA (Nottinghamshire
County Squad) and won Managers
and Parents Player of the Year
at Priory Celtic FC.
Serena Clarke NLSC –
nominated for Young
Sports Person of the Year
– Talented footballer from
Kimberley who plays for
Birmingham City Ladies
Centre of Excellence who attended
the England Elite Player Camp.
Olivia Foster 11LLAT –
nominated for Young
Sports Person of the Year
– Talented netball player
at Kimberley Netball Club
and football player at the
Derby Centre of Excellence and
Nottinghamshire Schools FA Squad.
Josh Wakelin 7LLZH –
nominated for Young
Sports Person of the
Year – A swimmer from
Kimberley Swimming Club
who always gives 100%.
Holds a collection of 22 trophies
and 13 medals and recently became
part of NOVA.

Sports Person of the Year
