In celebration of its ten-year
anniversary, BBC School Report
is looking back at its standout
moments. In 2012, Megan Barnes
and Jenny Banton were featured
on the BBC website after attempting
to reach The White House Press
Office. This has recently sparked the
interest of a BBC journalist who has
contacted the students to ask if they
would be interested in participating
in a follow-up story. Both students
have had telephone interviews with
journalist Mickey Carroll, who has
the intention of linking the Kimberley
students with a school hit by flooding,
due to Megan’s interest in working
in flood management. The story is
being pitched to Ms Carroll’s
