Study Trip
to Iceland
20 students from Year 11 and Year 13 embarked
upon the trip of a lifetime to Iceland, also known as
‘geographer’s paradise!’ It certainly lived up to its
icy name – it was very cold and windy for the whole
trip. Ironically, one of the warmest points was on our
glacier walk because it was sheltered from the fierce
coastal breezes.
We saw amazing sights – from spotting 6 orcas on
a whale watching trip to timing the eruptions of the
Strokkur Geyser, we were deafened by thundering
waterfalls and overwhelmed by the sulphurous
smell of solfataras and hot springs.
