Southwell Minster Visit
Successful Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to all the students and staff who
supported the half price Book Fair in the LRC.
We took a grand total of £853.73. We hope you
enjoy reading your new books!
After reading a book, students
in Years 7 and 8 and selected
Year 9 students take an online quiz to check
their understanding of the text. Congratulations
to the following students who have become
Accelerated Reader Word Millionaires this
school year.
Year 7
On Monday 22nd June, around 50 pupils went on a lovely RE
trip to Southwell Minster. We took part in loads of activities
which were really fun and interesting. When we first got to
the lovely, authentic building we were welcomed by staff and
a beautiful hall. We all took part in learning how and what an
organ did! Then we learnt the story of the story, which was really
interesting! We then learnt about God and Jesus and had a look
at each of the special statues of them. But throughout
our day, instead of constantly learning we had a lot of fun. The
day was unfortunately over but our day was amazing.

Robin Hood Youth Orchestra
Some of our Kimberley
School students are part
of the Robin Hood Youth
Orchestra at Nottingham
Music School. On May
16th, the orchestra performed at Meadow Lane
football ground as part of
Football Rocks, a charity football tournament set up by
Jake Bugg. It featured teams made up of a number of rock
and indie bands as well as some professional players. The
event was in aid of Jake’s Robin Hoodie foundation and
the British Heart Foundation.
Encompass Project
A new project, Encompass Nottinghamshire, has been gradually rolled out in
all schools in Nottinghamshire. It is run in
partnership with Nottinghamshire County
Council and Nottinghamshire Police.
Through information sharing of police reported domestic abuse incidents between
Nottinghamshire Police and schools, the
project aims to support children who are
affected by domestic abuse. Mrs Tait and
Mrs Marshall will liaise with the Education
advisor in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding
Hub, when required, whilst ensuring
support is available to the child during
the school day. We are committed to
providing the best possible care and
support for our students.
