NUREMBERG
2015
On Friday
23rd of January, an intrepid
band of Sixth-Formers set out to
the medieval city of Nuremberg, Germany.
Located in Northern Bavaria, this gorgeous
city was recognised as an area of great
importance to the third Reich. Under the Nazis,
it became their new centre of operations and the
focus of much party propaganda (including the
infamous 'Triumph of the Will'); however, it also
played a crucial part in their demise. For those of
us who went on the trip, it was most definitely an
experience of two halves: partly a sombre
and frank look at both historical and modern
day human rights abuses and the fantastic
work of the city in promoting social justice;
and partly an intellectual holiday with
picturesque surroundings and
fantastic food!
