s Visit ch m. We e, in rs ry to to ad ch nts ost he remembrance ceremony has taken place at 8pm every evening since 1928. This moving and poignant ceremony really brought home the reason for our visit; to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. On our final day, our students had some time at the hotel, where they took part in outdoor pursuit activities, such as zip wire and abseiling. We then marked Armistice Day with 2 minutes of silence at 11am, followed by a remembrance ceremony at Étaples Cemetery. Ella Foster and Joseph Taylor were selected by the rest of the group to lay a wreath. Our students were fantastically behaved and represented their school and country superbly. The visit was an important life-changing experience for all involved; not only teaching them about the First World War, but also about the emotional aspect of war and the importance of remembering those who fought for their country between 1914 and 1918.
