Sixth Form Recruitment
Meanwhile, recruitment of incoming Sixth Formers for next
academic year has begun! Applications are coming in by
the day (nearly 70) and the interviews are well under way,
with more planned for after Christmas. Congratulations
to all candidates, so far, who have been interviewed and
offered a conditional place.
Looking ahead….
The Sixth Form are planning 3 more fund raising events
before the end of term. They are having a cake sale for the
Ryan Lee Trust on Friday 5th December and then a Christmas Disco is planned for 9th December, funds from which
will be split between the Ryan Lee Trust and the Malaysia
trip fund and finally on Friday 12th a Christmas Jumper Day
is planned, funds from which will go to Save The Children.
Until our next news, Sixth Form wishes you a
very Happy Christmas and a Healthy and
Peaceful New Year! We look forward to
sharing further news with you in 2015!
Children in Need 2014
Sixth Formers threw themselves into the organisation and running of the Children In Need Appeal on
15th November. The atmosphere within school was
amazing with Sixth Formers and staff in fancy dress
and a real sense of a carnival created, thanks to the
school’s samba band playing during the lunchtime. A
number of stalls and activities took place including;
guess the name of the bear, cake sales , bacon cobs
and sweet selling, guess the number of sweets in the
jar, pie throwing at the teachers, a 6th Form versus
staff football match, a penalty shootout, fill the Pudsey
with coins, guess the number of lollies in the Pudsey,
guess the teacher’s baby picture and basketball. All
these stalls, plus the donations by students who paid
to wear their own non-uniform clothes for the day,
went towards raising a grand total of over £2000. So
well done everybody and thank you!!!
