SKI TRIP
In February, a group of 30
students set out on a 23 hour
drive to Sestriere, Italy. We were
to spend 5 days skiing – and for
many this was their first time.
The village is part of the Milky
Way resort which has a vast
400km of varied pistes, which
even crosses over the border
into France. We stayed in a
hotel which catered for schools
and the views from the higher
floors were incredible. We were
split into 3 ability groups for skiing. Everybody in the groups
got on well, despite not really
knowing each other, and we
got on especially well with our
instructor, Piedro. Overall, we
had brilliant weather during our
time there and it was great to ski
in the sun. The only exception to
this would be the couple of days
when it decided to snow during
the day and left us skiing on 3
feet of powder. We also couldn’t
see past 10 metres in front of
us – definitely an experience!
On the last day, we were all
disappointed to come home
and everyone slept throughout
the journey as we were all so
exhausted. I would love to go
back again!
