Well done to all the leaders who helped organise and lead the Years 7 to 11
Inclusive Games Festival on 4th February. Five of the Broxtowe secondary schools
attended the event. The leaders were all from Year 12 and did a splendid job.
The Kimberley team won the Broxtowe Multi-Sports Challenge held here on 15th
January and then went on to win the Nottinghamshire Winter Games competition
held at the University on Thursday 26th February. A brilliant effort, which was made
even better, when the team were also awarded the Spirit of the Games award.
Fabulous!
Morgan Gallimore, from Year 9, has been busy qualifying for a number of cross
country finals. Morgan took part in a National event held at Cofton Country Park
in Birmingham on Saturday 7th March, having qualified through a regional club
championship. Morgan was in the Under 15 age group, even though he is an
under 14, and came an excellent 30th out of 300 runners. Morgan was the first
runner from the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire teams to cover the 4.5km.
A superb achievement.
Morgan then ran in the English Schools Championships representing Nottinghamshire Schools on Saturday 14th March in Blackburn, Lancashire. Morgan finished
11th which means he has been asked to be a reserve at the International event
which is to be held in Dublin. A really excellent achievement.

In Science Club, the students
have been busy planning, researching and collecting results
for their individual science
projects. They are putting their
findings together on project
boards to display at science
fair style stalls in Year 7 and
Year 8 parents’ evening. The
students are enjoying being able
to plan their own investigation
and are thriving from the independent nature of the project.
