The journey to Me to We | Page 4

Molly Burke at we day

Molly was 4 years old when her eyes began to darken, she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, which is the loss of vision. she started publically speaking at the age of 5. As she was growing up she was bullied, they mocked her about her vision. Molly then became depressed, she struggled with a mental illness, molly then had the courage to stand up to her bullies. Another thing that the bullies had done was her friends that didn't want her as a friend anymore, they made her sleep under a desk. They also told her that they would try to make her pretty, but ended up putting whip cream in her hair, they also wrote something on her face. After that she said she felt so low that she didn't have the courage to stand up for herself Molly has travelled around Canada and the US talking about her story with youth, families, and working with different organizations. She also travelled to two different free the children communities (Kenya, and India).
