Much like the Left Wing Fascists, The Floor Models evolved in the 80's,went into a hiatus and reemerged in the 2010's to release an album worthy of all star status. They released 'Floor Your Love' their long awaited 1st album in 2012, which was a collection of basically everything they had recorded back in the 80's.

Of the 19 songs writing credit is split evenly between Gerry Devine and Andy Pasternack (eight songs each), with one Devine/Pasternack collaboration and two covers, ABBA’s “S.O.S.” and the Records’ “Hearts in Her Eyes.” Sadly, Pasternack passed away last September, before the Zero Hour release.

As Steve Simels points out; "We finally packed it in in the late 80s (although a different incarnation of the band carried on till the mid-90s) but I think the music holds up. In any case, "Floor Your Love' finally collects just about everything we ever recorded, in a variety of settings; it is, for all intents, The Album We Never Made."

They released their 1st single in over 30 years, 'Letter From Liverpool' in late 2015, and just recently released their EP, labelled after their single, in mid July of this year. And (with thanks once again Marc), it was that song that got me hooked. You can definitely hear influences of the Beatles, and yes, The Byrds, even a twinge of the Hollies.

I tip my hat to Steve Simels for pulling their songs from the vault and keepiong the trend going with their new releases. It's artists like these, bringing back those cool vibes of the British Invasion and melodic beats of the punk rock craze that have me stuck in this groove I have no desire to be pulled out of. And one I will definitely be sharing a lot of on Q108 Kingston.
