Comedian Russell Peters has joined Ed Helms and
Amanda Seyfried in the film The Clapper. Dito
Montiel is writing and directing the comedy with
Helms and Mike Falbo producing through their
Pacific Electric production company. The movie
follows a professional “infomercial clapper” who
gets plucked by a late-night talk show to host his
own TV series. The 15 minutes of fame end up
costing him his job, as well as a budding
relationship with a girl who works at a gas station.
Peters was most recently voiced the character
Rocky the Rhino in Disney’s The Jungle Book.

Cedric the
Entertainer
Cedric the Entertainer has landed a
guest-starring role on Superior
Donuts, it has been confirmed. Ced
has been tapped to play Jerome
Wicks, the father of Jermaine
Fowler’s Franco Wicks. Jerome is a
blue-collar, tough-love kind of
parent who always scoffed at his
son’s artistic ambitions. When he
shows up at Franco’s first art show,
he accuses Arthur (Judd Hirsch) of
encouraging Franco’s unrealistic
dreams. Cedric the Entertainer,
whose TV credits also include The
Soul Man, Hot in Cleveland, and 2
Broke Girls, will appear in an
episode slated for May.
