Looking The Part Is Only Half The Battle...
So, they look great, but what made them choose us as their
base; we asked 50 Business Men why they chose our hotel and
what made the most difference to their trip.
High on the priority list was the location with parking; being
a city centre hotel meant that they not only were moments
away from the route in to the city, but also that they had
everything they needed at their well groomed finger tips.
With ample parking they had the convenience of a city centre
hotel without the nightmare of street parking and meters!
They also liked that we had free meeting spaces, so they could
host the meetings at the hotel for ease and less commuting
time between meetings.
“For me, a good bed and hot shower are my life’s essentials,
in a good location near to a station. Free Wi-Fi is obviously
a must...not a benefit! There really is no excuse to charge
for Wi-Fi in my opinion! If I am a regular traveller I like
the recognition that comes with my repeat business;
acknowledging my favourite room, the tea I like to drink or
the papers I like to read. I always will book direct, I think
that’s important and a gesture of thanks never goes amiss,
even a simple thank you and acknowledgment or perhaps a
complimentary drink at the bar for longer stays. It’s nice to
have a trouser press, but not essential and I personally like
water in the room with real milk rather than sachets!
Wi-Fi was next; with super speedy Enterprise Grade Wi-Fi
covering all of our conference facilities, break-out spaces and
meeting areas, using a dedicated leased line of 30Mb, means
that our ‘road warriors’ can be plugged in and productive
all day everyday for free. We recognise that Business Men
only have a short amount of time and therefore need to be
more productive, with minimal interruptions and maximum
connectivity! That’s why we have safe, smart Wi-Fi technology
in all of our public areas.
The Gym shone brightly in terms of what drew them to the
hotel. Club Continental comes complete with sauna, stream
room, two gyms and a heated indoor pool - open 7 days a
week; whether it was an early morning workout or an evening
chill-out, Club Continental was a must for our Business
travellers.
You see as frequent travellers, we know what we need and it
will vary from person to person, but what I love is that you

Food! A hearty breakfast, in house restaurant and great room
service were also noted; and with a freshly cooked breakfast,
relaxed atmosphere and great menu in Steve’s Brasserie and
with a great room service menu; our guests said that they had
everything they needed to ensure they had the fuel for their
day ahead.
