THE EDIT December 2012 | Page 27

Step 1: Apply a layer of your red wine/berry shade, being very careful to follow the shape of your lips. I like to use the tip of the lipstick to outline my lips first and then fill them in.

Step 2: Add a powder over this first lipstick layer. This step is absolutely essential if you want your lip colour to last through the night! I like to use my every day face powder for this step and I simply pat it on with a concealer brush.

Step 3: Apply a second layer of lipstick over the top of the powder to seal it all in and this makes the colour become a deep berry shade.

Step 4: Finish off with a clear or berry coloured gloss to make your lips look fuller. My go to gloss for this particular lip has been Bailey Costmetics, a Canadian beauty brand, in the shade Berry. This is a great trick to also hide any mistakes that you may have made on the lip line!

And there you have it, the perfect red wine lips for the holiday season! Top this look off with a gorgeous gold highlighter, such as MAC's Soft n' Gentle and you're good to go! Happy Holidays everyone. MORE ------------------------>
