LEGISLATION
With the state facing one of the worst droughts in its history, our focus in Sacramento this year has been to secure funding for programs that preserve habitat for aquatic species and protect water flows in California’s strained rivers and streams. CalTrout has been involved in both legislative and Resource Agency actions to protect and carefully allocate scarce water resources, focusing not only on weathering the drought but also on climate change and long-term improvements in the health of California’s watersheds.
