Five Connecticut Stars Compete at 2016 U.S. Amateur Championship
P
aul Pastore, Geoff Vartelas,
Theo Humphrey, Eric Dietrich
and Clark Robinson all recently
competed in the 2016 U.S. Amateur
Championship at Oakland Hills
Country Club in Bloomfield, Michigan.
Pastore was the lone player from the
Nutmeg state to advance to match play,
shooting rounds of 70-71--141 to earn
one of the coveted 64 spots in match
play. Pastore fell in the first round to
Luis Gagne by a score of 5 and 3, but
his T41 finish in stroke play among a
field of 312 of the best amateurs in the world is impressive to say the least.
