Road Trip
Richard Hayes of Wilton and Raymond Floyd, Jr. of Old Greenwich will be representing
Connecticut in the 36th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, which begins September
10th at Stonewall Links in Elverson, Pennsylvania. Both Hayes and Floyd, Jr. will look to
become the first player from Connecticut since Jerry Courville, Jr. to bring a USGA trophy
back to the nutmeg state. Courville, Jr. captured the Mid-Amateur in 1995, defeating
Warren Sye at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.
