CSGA Announces 2015 P.J. Boatwright Internship Recipients

atie Vrabel of Charlotte, North Carolina
and Daniela Lendl of Goshen, Connecticut
will join the CSGA staff in 2015 as USGA
P.J. Boatwright Interns. Vrabel will be employed for
seven months from mid-March through mid-October,
and Lendl will work three months from June through
August.
According to CSGA Executive Director, Mike
Moraghan, “We’re very pleased that Katie and Daniela
will be joining the CSGA team this year. I expect they
will learn a lot, contribute to all that we do, and excel in
their assignments. Both have been outstanding students
at their respective universities. Katie brings a strong
resume and considerable experience for someone in an
early stage of her career path. Daniela has volunteered
with us in the past and is an excellent fit with our
organization.”
Vrabel is a 2014 Florida State University
graduate who majored in Media and Communications
and minored in International Relations. During her
undergraduate years she was an active organizer and
fundraiser for charitable groups through a variety of
events, and devoted considerable time serving the
Tallahassee community. Since graduating from FSU
she has worked as Director of Marketing for The
Fish Camps restaurants of Jacksonville, Florida, and
most recently completed a marketing and promotions
internship with the ATP Tour’s Delray Beach Open.
“I am so excited to be interning with the
Connecticut State Golf Association,” said Vrabel, “I
believe that I will gain insurmountable knowledge from
this USGA P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internship. It will put me
one step closer to reaching my goal of someday working
fulltime in the golf industry.”
Lendl is currently in her senior year at the
University of Alabama, and will graduate summa cum
laude in May as a Communications Studies major
with a minor in Consumer Science. An outstanding
competitive golfer, Lendl has been in the starting lineup
twenty times for the Crimson Tide during her collegiate
career and has recorded four top-10 finishes. She has
worked as an instructor and counselor at numerous golf
camps and has volunteered at amateur events in both

Connecticut and Florida.
“I am grateful to have the opportunity to work
with the CSGA this summer through the USGA P.J.
Boatwright Jr. Internship,” said Lendl, “I am excited to
learn more about tournament operations, and have a
glimpse of what we do not see as players.”
Funded by the United States Golf Association,
the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. internship program was created
in memory of former USGA Executive Director of
Rules and Competitions, P.J. Boatwright, Jr. 2015 will
be the second year in which the CSGA has received
ten months of funding for two Boatwright interns.
Adam Wolfe (seven months) and Taylor Griffin (three
months) interned in 2014. Current CSGA Manager of
Communication and Competitions, Chris Austin was an
eight-month Boatwright intern with the CSGA in 2013.
