3rd Annual
Junior Golf Fair
O
n Saturday, May 31, Suzy Whaley Golf will
be hosting their annual Junior Golf Fair
presented by Cobra Puma Golf. Previously
called the Girl’s Golf Fair, this will be the third year
that the Fair will take place and it is now open to
both boy and girl junior golfers. Both PGA and LPGA
Professionals will be teaching kids and families that
golf is a sport that is fun and inclusive for all who
want to get involved.
The day will be filled with fun activities for
both kids and parents, including SNAG Golf Stations,
Birdie Balls, PGA Sports Academy Stations and Golf
Equipment Demos.
“First and foremost, it is just for kids to have
fun through golf,” said Whaley. “The First Tee of
Connecticut at TPC River Highlands is our host site,
and we will be using their amazing facilities to get
kids involved and engaged in learning golf but at
the same time having fun. Our hope is this will get
the kids into a program either with The First Tee
or at a PGA Professionals program or our program
where we can integrate them from this experience
to experiences on the course.”
Parents are more than welcome to join in on
the activities during the day, and there will be stations
around the First Tee area where they can learn
about the golf programs throughout the state. The
Connecticut PGA Section will also be in attendance to
talk with parents about the junior golf opportunities
that they offer throughout Connecticut and Western
Massachusetts.
“It’s really a fun day where parents can get an
idea of how family oriented golf can be,” said Jennifer
Filler, Director of Operations for Suzy Whaley Golf.
“There will also be high school and college teams so
parents will get a chance to see that this a very good
opportunity for their kids going forward. The fair is
designed to show how great golf can be for families.”
