CSGA Conducts Rules of Golf Workshop
The Farms Country Club in Wallingford
hosted the biennial two-day CSGA Rules of Golf
Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, March 8
and 9. A large turnout of golf enthusiasts from
around the state, including representatives
from the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association,
the Southern New England Women’s Golf
Association, The PGA Connecticut Section,
as well as new and veteran CSGA volunteers
gathered to improve their knowledge of the
Rules of Golf.
CSGA Director of Operations, Ryan
Hoffman, and CSGA Director of Competitions
and Communications, Brent Paladino shared
duties as instructors for the program. The pair covered the Definitions, and Rules 1-28 and Rules 33
and 34 using slides, videos and detailed explanations followed by question and answer sessions.
Among the PGA professionals in attendance, The Farms host head professional, Jim Hanlon was
enthusiastic in his praise for the workshop. “This was really a great two days,” said Hanlon, “it’s such
important information for a golf professional to know, and Ryan and Brent did a great job with the
presentation.”
To test their knowledge, participants were given the option of taking a 50-question test following
the Rules Workshop. Individuals who attained a score of 80 or above qualified to serve as Rules Officials
in CSGA championships.
