18 year-old Clark Robinson of Tallwood Country Club scorched the field at the final Connecticut State Amateur qualifying site on Monday , June 10 when he fired a 5-under par 65 to claim medalist honors by six shots in a field of 119 players . A rainy day at Madison Country Club did nothing to cool off a red-hot Robinson , whose six birdies sparked his runaway victory . Robinson will celebrate his 19th birthday on Monday , June 17 at New Haven Country Club as first round of the 111th State Amateur Championship gets underway .
