Previewing the 2013 New England Amateur Championship
What did winning the New England Amateur mean to you ?
It meant a lot to get my first win ; it almost felt like weight was lifted off my shoulders when I tee it up now . My win at the New England Am gave me confidence going into my U . S . Amateur qualifier four days later , and I ended up successfully qualifying and made the trip to Cherry Hills .
What ’ s your most memorable moment from that event ?
What are your plans for the summer ?
Because of my victory at the New England Am , I am exempt into the Russell C . Palmer Cup in May , CT Amateur in June , New England Am and CT Open in July . I will also try to make it back to the U . S . Amateur this summer and will try to qualify for the U . S . Open as well .

July 16th - 18th , 2013 at Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington , Vermont
Format : 54-Hole Stroke Play Competition Eligibility : Entries are open to amateur golfers who hold membership in a club belonging to one of the six New England State Golf Associations and have an up-to-date USGA / GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4 .
I remember walking from the 17th green to the 18th green and I asked the rules official where I stood with the last hole to play . Until that point , I kept to myself without looking at the scores while playing . When he told me I had a five shot lead , all nerves left and I was able to play the final hole relaxed .
Most embarrassing moment so far in college ?
My most embarrassing moment in college thus far was freshman year when I walked into the wrong class on the first day of school . After I realized I was in Intro to Biology and not Freshman English , I left and went to the correct classroom . Upon arriving , my teacher said , “ Welcome to college .” I ’ m pretty sure I was bright red .
Something people may not know about me is that I want to work on Wall Street after I graduate . Ever since I came to Marquette and have been exposed to the business program and opportunities that come with it , it has turned into my goal and dream . There is an applied investment management program at Marquette I am particularly interested which I will apply to next fall .
