Connecticut National Golf Club

This month , our spotlight is on Connecticut National Golf Club , an 18-hole upscale public course in Putnam , Connecticut . The original course opened in 1994 as Putnam Country Club , and was purchased by owners Jim Dandeneau and Brad Rabitor in 2007 . Most owners who purchase a new course try to work with what they have for a few years , but Dandeneau and Rabitor had a different plan in mind . Less than a year after purchasing the course , the owners hired Mark Mungeum , whose notable designs include Blissful Meadows and Oxford Greens , and completely renovated the entire facility . Approximately 4,000 trees were removed and replaced by long fescue and subtle mounding . A total of 56 bunkers were added , the course was lengthened 800 yards , and the greens were completely reshaped . There ’ s no doubt that Connecticut National has Course Quick Facts transformed into a Championship course that will test players of every ability . Combined with beautiful
